SLOT DRUMS are inspired by the ancient use of
hollow logs with a split in them as drums. The actual log was kicked
or struck to make the sound. Weaver Slot Drums use that principal
and combine it with conventional drum heads on the ends. They may be played
with a beater or by hand on the heads, and the log played with the wooden
handle of the beater. The drum lays horizontal and a low stand may
be purchased with the drum if desired. Sizes range from 7" to 16"
in diameter and the length is 16" to 30". They may have one or two
heads. Prices range from $150 to $350 dollars. <Back

![]() Cost $140.00 Corn Drums are not only popular with traditional drummers, but also with professional drummers in jazz clubs and rock recording sessions. They are made from cottonwood logs with a diameter of 11" to 14". All are narrow, only 3-1/2" by 5'1/2" thick, double-headed drums. When a Corn Drum is played vertically, it produces a tradional drum sound. However, when it is played horizontally, it has a rattle sound made from Indian Corn reverberating between the heads. Carved geometric designs taken from basketry and pottery work well in
the narrow space between the heads. Another popular design uses the
head's rawhide tabs to expose the log in the shape of a snake -- a rattler
is appropriate with the sound the drum makes. Corn Drums are available
carved or not, with or without colored stains, and the Indian Corn
may be left out if desired. <Back

![]() Prices range from $150.00 to $1200.00 Totally unique, Spirit Drums are truly a collaboration between Nature and Jerry. One-of-a-kind logs reside in the studio until they tell Jerry what they are to be. Then he gets to work with his chisel. If you are interested in not only a drum but also a unique sculpture, talk to Jerry about a Spirit Drum. Spirit Drums are harder to order. You have to trust the log and the universe. They come in small to medium sizes, in all shapes and styles. We can e-mail you pictures of Spirit Drums which are presently patiently waiting for you to claim them.

![]() Price range from $150.00 to $600.00 If any Weaver drum can be described as a typical drum, Earth Drums come the closest. The log is usually simpler, and Jerry incorporates your spirit or design ideas into it. Each comes with its own beater. Earth Drums can be small or medium in size (you specify approximate dimensions). They have either single heads on pegs or through holes in the log, or double-heads laced to each other. They can be just carved or colored with natural stains. They may also have cut-out designs in the log. Price range from $150 to $600. All come with beaters. Stands are additional.
